Open Tuesday through Saturday 11:00-4:00
Murphys Volunteer Library is part of the Calaveras County Library system. You may use your library card at any of eight county branches: San Andreas (central), Angels Camp, Arnold, Copperopolis, Mokelumne Hill, Murphys, Valley Springs, and West Point. You may also access the ELibrary to search the Calaveras catalog and renew materials checked out on your account.
Your Library is part of an interloan system which gives access to library collections around the country. Can't find the book you want at your local branch? Your librarian may be able to request it from another branch in the Tri-counties (Calaveras/Amador/Tuolumne) at no cost, or from a library farther afield for a per item fee. You may also use an online Request Form for books not found in the Calaveras catalog.
ZipBooks - A statewide project and valuable source of funding for new materials requested by patrons (that means YOU!)

RETURN DATES: All materials checked out are due three weeks from the check-out date, except DVDs. DVDs are due one week from the check-out date. Return dates may be extended by renewing materials before they are due; you may renew materials as many times as you like unless a hold has been placed on them. Murphys Library also has a limited selection of Honor Books, which may be borrowed for any length of time - on your honor to return them.
OVERDUE FINES: Overdue materials are charged 20 cents per day - except DVDs. DVDs are charged $1.00 per day. Lost items are charged the purchase price, plus a $5.00 handling fee. You may not be allowed to check out additional materials if your overdue fines exceed $3.00.
COMPUTERS: Murphys Library has four computer work stations with internet connectivity and Microsoft Office applications. We ask that patrons sign-in for computer use up to one hour; time may be extended, except when others are waiting for a turn.
Free Wifi is available for those who wish to use a personal device, with plenty of comfortable space to plug in.
Printing is available for 10 cents per page up to 10 pages in B&W (20 cents per page in color). Additional charges apply for more than 10 pages - see your librarian.
